My Home Office
I know, I know, I’ve been MIA for far too long. But, I promise it’s been for good reason! I’ve finally started dedicating real time to my novel, and I’m doing pretty well so far! I haven’t given up yet! I have an outline, a history, and the introduction and first chapter done. As of right now, there are 13,000 words! I’m not 100% sure I’m ready to reveal all the details publicly, but it is a YA Fantasy novel.
Now, enough with the update on the novel (which I will share more details on later, I promise!) A few weeks ago, my brother-in-law and his girlfriend picked up this beautiful and simple white desk for my office. While I loved utilizing my brown one, and I’m so thankful to have had that desk at all when I moved, it was about time I transitioned into something that fit my style better (and matched my office theme.) The desk I chose was from IKEA and it looks like a table. It is simple and clean, which is exactly what I was going for with my office!
I also purchased a small cube shelf to place next to my desk, because exposed storage is the best way to keep everything clean and organized at all times! Not that I let anything get messy in my office in the first place. I also purchased a cork board for organizing my novel (which, I sadly still have yet to use.) And of course, I still have my dad’s reading chair draped in my favorite blanket, which was a gift from my parents a few Christmases ago.
My three-drawer teal organizer was moved into my closet to open up the space in the room so it doesn’t feel as cluttered. Pictures were also moved to different areas of the house or photo albums so the room feels cleaner. This is where I spend my time writing, creating, planning, etc., so I need to have a clean space to keep my mind open. Clutter stresses me out and ruins my productivity. Anybody else? Not the Hunky Engineer, I’ll tell you that. You should see his studio/office… Anyway, I digress.
Here are some photos of my new and improved office space!

I hope you enjoy the new tour of my creative office space! What types of things do you need to organize your creative space?
